More hunting and fishing

Most of the camps offer fantastic fishing for lakers, brookies or even northern pikes! Fishing is open until September 7 and it free but for the licence. Bring your rod! Small game (spruce grouse and ptarmigan) and black bear are also open after August 25.

    Fishing

In the subarctic regions north of the 55th parallel where we will take you, there is almost more water than land. There are thousands and thousands of virgin lakes and rivers, most of them don't even have a name and never saw a fishing lure. It is a real paradise for fishermen !

The species found in Northern Quebec are Atlantic Salmon, Landlock Salmon, Northern Pike, Speckled trout, Artic Char and Lake Trout. One or more of these species are available at each camp, the most common being Lake Trout. In 2005, fishing was open till the 7th of September and the price of a non-resident licence was $52 (Canadian Funds). Three day non-resident licence was $22.75 (Canadian Funds). The 2006 season dates and licence prices are not yet confirmed but should be about the same.

Bear

There are some black bears in the region, but they are not plentiful so far up north. We do not want to attract you with bear or give you big hopes of bagging one; each season, only 5% of our hunters see any bear during their caribou hunt. In 2005, the bear season opened on August 25th and the price of a non-resident licence was $125.25 (Canadian funds). The 2006 season dates and licence prices are not yet confirmed but should be about the same.

Small game

There are some ptarmigans and spruce grouses in most areas. In 2005, the small game season opened on August 25th and the price of a non-resident licence was $71 (Canadians funds). 2006 season dates and licence prices are not yet confirmed but should be about the same.
